Introduction to Western Christian Mysticism

This workshop will provide an overview of  (1) current descriptions and definitions of Christian Mysticism; (2) typologies of mystical experience, e.g., speculative, affective, and active mysticism; (3) the nature of mystical experience; and 4) the types of Christian mysticism theologically understood as  (a) Divine Image  (b) Trinitarian  (c) Love.   Illustrative excerpts from various authors will be given.
